First impression of the awaited S500

Sony Ericsson S500 seems to be an awaited model, since it already is high up on the top lists on the web. We have taken a closer look and started to try it out.
Delicate with dynamic menus adapting to time and season.
It is supposed to owe its idiom to the Nordic nature and its seasons which is mainly visible in the menus. There you will get fireworks on New Year's and flowers with changing colours as well as snow flakes during winter months. Another menu theme adapts to what time of day it is.
The actual phone is relatively fastidious, there is not really that much that attracts your attention - the menus in the more elaborated themes are more spectacular than the phone itself. The material is in a matt kind of plastic while the keypad could at a first glance look like it is made out of metal. But when you touch it, you actually notice that the keys are in a matt, rubber-like material.
The lack of 3G in the phone does not mean that much in practice. It is still equipped with the features that make use of the internet connection, such as Sony Ericsson's blogging feature with which you easily create and upload images to a image blog on Google's Blogger. Naturally, however, the lack of 3G does lead to longer waits.
