Two phones in one

Two phones in one is an old worn-out cliché, but this time it is literally the truth. WMD Telecom has made a phone with two front sides and two SIM card slots, for people with two subscriptions but only in need for one phone.
Lebanon is perhaps not the first place you think about when considering mobile manufacturing countries, and WMD Telecom, partly based in Hong Kong and South Korea, has only been around since 2006, but its first phone is now available in stores, and it is a rare bird. The Wind Duo 2000 has two fronts, in different colours. Each side has its own SIM card and is basically a separate phone.
The idea feels practical if you are one of those that do not want to carry around two phones, and are not too picky about what phone you are using. Since - it is not a power package; a triple-band GSM with GPRS. But it does come with Java and a music player, and the phone does have a 65.000-colour OLED display, which should give it a good battery time. The weight of 100 gram is not that bad either, at least not for two phones.
The phone is developed by WMD Telecom, but manufactured by VK.
Do not count on finding this phone in your local store. But it can be ordered from the net, from the company web site, www.wndtelecom.com.
WND Telecom has more odd phones up its sleeve. On its website, it is possible to read about two coming models, Duo Atom and Atom Van Gogh. Duo Atom has, as the Duo 2000, room for two SIM cards, but with a movement sensor that changes the used subscription as the phone is turned around. The phone will also have a 3-megapixel camera with auto focus.
Atom Van Gogh will on the other hand feature an inset Bluetooth headset, to be removed when in use. In that way you always know where the headset is, and there is no need to recharge it separately. Both phones are soon to be available, according to WMD Telecom.
