Extreme screen in Nokia's new top model

”2.8 inches” perhaps does not say that much, but in reality the screen in Nokia's new N95 8GB is almost oddly large. We have tried it.

N95 has been revamped with news and better memory capacity as well as battery time.

N-gage games are also going to be available for the N95 8GB.

Video, photo, music and support for the new N-gage games is new with the N95 8GB, but also 30 percent better battery time than its predecessor according to Nokia.

The N95 8GB still has the same menu system as its predecessor. But next to the ordinary menu, there is a separate media menu when manoeuvring to submenus with songs, video clips, maps and games.

The screen is of course most noticeable when gaming and watching videos. Nokia's developers is right now trying to make it possible to use the extendable music buttons as gaming buttons when the user has a mobile game going.

There is also a built-in GPS, with support for assisted GPS, helping the phone finding its fix faster than a regular GPS, thanks to information from the mobile network. When exploring the menus, there are maps of a number of places in the world, this is a benefit with the new graphical user interface - it is easy to collect and keep track of maps over cities and areas visited.

Apart from the above, the Nokia N95 8GB looks quite a lot like its predecessor. On the images it looks bigger, but that is probably an optical illusion due to the large screen. In practice the format still feels quite pocket friendly. The 5-megapixel camera is the same as the one in the regular N95.
