New photos of the upcoming Sony Ericsson W890
October 30, 2007
New images of the Sony Ericsson W890, the follow-up to W880 has appeared on the net. Compared to its predecessor, the W890 has a 3.2-megapixel camera and is likely to have turbo 3G. The phone will most likely be introduced at the grand Sony Ericsson launch in London next Tuesday.
We have earlier been writing about images of a new slim Walkman mobile from Sony Ericsson. Now there are new images of the upcoming phone, from the Polish site se-center.pl.
Not that much new information on the model is available. It is apparent from the images that the phone has a 3.2-megapixel camera but no flash or flash lamp, and the camera on the front side shows that it is a 3G mobile. On the images, the screen is shown both standing and in landscape mode, which might mean that the phone, as is W910, is equipped with a gyro.
According to the Polish site, the new phone is 9.6 millimeters thick, only 0.2 millimeters thicker than the W880i, and considerably slimmer than the earlier prototype seen on images before. Mobil Magazine has also confirmed the existence of the phone from an anonymous industry source. According to the source, the W890 is “very similar to the W880”. The buttons are however more sturdy than those on the W880.
On Tuesday November 6 Sony Ericsson holds a large launch in London. The W890 is most likely one of the new models that will appear there. Mobil Magazine will be there to report from the launch.
