Sony Ericsson W350 controls the music with a lid
January 07, 2008
Sony Ericsson has realized that the lid that old Ericsson models like the T28 were equipped with were actually quite popular, and the lid gets to make a comeback in the new music phone W350. The idea is to make music more accessible, and we like it now that we tried it.
The music is controlled from the lid and is meant to make it easier for people used to a stand-alone MP3 player to control music on the phone.
Already this morning, we have tried a pre-production sample of the new phone. Right away, we found the lid with the music buttons to be a simple and logical construction.
The music player in W350 is the same as in the other recent models from Sony Ericsson, with views of CD covers, built in FM radio and TrackID. Stereo Bluetooth is also included, which means you can listen to music in wireless stereo headsets.
So, we get a positive impression of the phone. The phone distinguishes itself with it's thin form factor, making it somewhat similar to its greater siblings W880 and W890, though the lid gives the phone a character all of its own.
